Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Tuesday, May 31 at 8:30 a.m.

We will be open for our summer hours. We’ll be open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily, but will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday and Memorial Day. Come see us when you get to the beach.

Coming to you with big Hayne. Always stoked and keeping the pier area tidy this morning.

We have small surf this morning. We’re coming to you from the pier, and it’s about ankle to knee high.

Winds are east/north-east at 5 knots, and surf is bumpy and weak.

Look for winds to become south-east this afternoon at 10 to 15, and the surf-zone should get choppier as the day wears on.

High tide is at 9:14 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:02 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:27 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 6 seconds in a shorth-period, south/south-east wind swell.

High pressure sets up over our marine area this week and we expect small during most of the work week, with no real swell-making systems approaching until late week when a cold front approaches our marine area, with the possibility of a tropical low moving out of the GOMEX and into our swell window Sunday into Monday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will generally prevail most of this week. A cold front will slowly move through our area on Friday, then transition into a stationary front along the Southeast coast over the weekend. Low pressure could also pass off the coast early next week.”

It’s 79* and partly cloudy.  High of 82* with sun and a few passing clouds all day.

Water Temperature is still around 80*.

Sunrise is at 6:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:22 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
