Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, May 9th at 9a.m.

We have all sizes and shapes of Catch Surf boards in the shop, Including Beater Twins and a great stock of Odysea Log models in the 7’0”, 8’0” and the ever popular 9’0” models. Summer is coming so come Catch Surf with Ocean.

Surfs showing knee-thigh+ high at the pier looks decent with just a little wind hurting it early this morning on the incoming tide.

Winds are 5 knots out of the WSW adding little bump to the surf. Winds should pick up SW at 10-20mph today.

We have a high tide today at 11:13 a.m.  Low tide will drain out at 5:15 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 4.6 ft at 5 seconds windswell from the SSW .

Surf is showing thigh-waist high looks decent if you want to get wet, winds brisk out of the SSW currently putting some drift and chop to it. A weak cold front pushes through today. Tuesday the surf should still linger knee-waist high.  Mid-week that wind-swell is due to fade out. A series of mild Low pressures then sit off the mid-Atlantic generating a decent NE swell to hit Florida late this coming week. That swell will mostly pass our shores unfortunately.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will remain over the western Atlantic through today. A cold front will move south through area tonight, followed by dry high pressure through early next week. Another cold front should then arrive by the middle of next week.”

Its 74 this morning with partly cloudy skies.  Temps should pick up to the lower 80’s with rain showers developing in the evening.

Water temperature is 72*.

Sunrise is at 6:25 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:07 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
