Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Nov.10 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is waist-to-stomach high with a chest set, and will build with the incoming morning tide push.

Winds are north/north-east at 15 knots, and  at surf is side-shore, drifty and closing-out some at the lower tide this morning, but it shows some potential with the incoming tide mid-morning.

Look for winds to increase from the east late morning at 15 to 20 knots. Surf gets choppier this afternoon, with continued drift down the beach.

Low tide will be at 8:52 a.m., and high tide will be at 3:06 p.m. The next low tide at 9:30 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 10.2 ft. at 10 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

There is lots of swell at the buoy, and we see chest-to-head high surf all day. It’ll be cleaner this morning, with mostly choppy conditions for afternoon. We have high pressure to the northeast, and tropical storm Eta to our south-west in the Gulf of Mexico. This keeps strong on-shore flow in the forecast for the next few days, with strong wind-swell at Folly. Hopefully the wind will fall off a bit Thursday and Friday, and conditions will improve. Tropical Storm Eta should remain somewhat stationary in the Gulf of Mexico through much of the work week, meandering near Florida’s West Coast. Either way we have tons of surf on offer this week if you want to put in the work for choppy surf though mid-week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will persist through midweek, while Tropical Cyclone Eta meanders over the eastern Gulf of Mexico. A cold front will then move into the region late week and likely stall offshore before lifting back northward over the weekend. A stronger cold front will pass through early next week.”

It’s 74* with sun this morning. Look for a high of 78* with clouds moving in and rain for mid-afternoon.

Water temperature is around 69*.

Sunrise is at 6:46 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:20 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
