Off-shore winds, clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat.
Traffic: Not bad.
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Nov.17 at 8:30 a.m.

City Council reiterated that there is to be no surfing within 200 feet of the pier as construction continues. Please abide by these regulations, so we don’t lose the privilege to surf in the area. The City will restrict surfing for two blocks in either direction if the local surf community does not stay 200 feet away. Law enforcement will be enforcing the ordinance.

Surf at Folly has gone pretty much flat.

Winds are light offshore from the north-west at 5 knots. Surface conditions are clean.

Look for winds to remain the same throughout today.

We have a high tide at 9:14 a.m., and a low tide at 3:28 p.m. The next high tide at 9:25 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 1.6 ft. at 7 seconds in a medium period south-east swell.

Things look to slow down for us surf-wise here on Folly much of our work week as high pressure dominates our marine area. A decent low moves off of the New England coast and shoves a shot of NE swell down to Florida mid-week. This will pass our shores unfortunately. Later in the work week a strong high pressure moves well offshore and looks to produce a decent trade-wind swell for your weekend, as winds come more on-shore, and surf size increases.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the area through early next week.”

It’s 52* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 66* and sun. We have perfect fall beach weather.

Water temperature is around 69*.

Sunrise is at 6:52 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:16 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
