Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 8:30 a.m.
Water Temperatures have dropped a good bit over the last few days. It’s now 56*, which is REALLY cold for mid-November. We have O’neil, Billabong and Body Glove Neoprene on the floor to keep you toasty!
Surf at Folly this morning is knee-to-thigh high. Looks like there could be a waist high set as the tide comes in. Best for a high-volume board, but it looks kind of fun, early.
Winds are north at 5 to 10 knots. Surf is nice and clean.
Look for north-west winds to persist at 5 knots today, with winds clocking west at 5 to 10 mid-to-late afternoon. We expect small, fairly clean surf all day.
Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 12:44 p.m. The low tide will be at 7:14 pm.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell.
We have thigh high surf today with a rare bigger set as the tide comes in this morning. Best for a high-volume board if you need to get wet. Surf fades for mid-week as high pressure sets up over our marine area. We should see small, choppy south-west wind swell in the water Friday, increasing Saturday as another cold front approaches our area. You’ll need at least a 3/2 and booties, as water temperature has dropped significantly over the past week. It is now around 56*, which is more like January than mid-November.
Its 52* with sun behind clouds this morning. Look for a nice day with a high of 62* and partly cloudy skies today.
Water temperature is dropping rapidly. It’s now 56*. It’s dropped 10* in about a week.
Sunrise is at 6:52 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:16 p.m.
