Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Nov.24 at 8:30 a.m.
We will be open until 4 p.m. on Wednesday so our staff can go enjoy some turkey and stuffing. We’ll be closed on Thanksgiving and open for normal operations on Friday. We are most Thankful for YOU, supporting our small business. Thank you for all you do to help Ocean Surf Shop keep our small business running.
Surf at Folly is knee high with a thigh set this morning in an easterly wind swell.
Winds are north-at 15 knots, and surf is side-shore, drifty and semi-clean.
Look for winds to increase from the north-east at 15 knots this afternoon, putting some chop and drift in the surf zone.
We have a low tide at 9:21 a.m., and a high tide at 3:37 p.m. The next low tide is at 9:42 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 4.4 ft. at 5 seconds in a short-period period east/north-east wind swell.
Our holiday work week starts out with a high-angled north-east wind swell passing our beaches as high pressure sets up north-east wind swell. We should see winds and swell come more on-shore Wednesday, as wind rotate more from the south as a cold front moves into the area and stalls on Thanksgiving Day. There could be some fun surf Wednesday, pcking up for Thanksgiving. Surf looks to fall off for the weekend, but there should be rideable waves – off and on – for the latter half holiday work week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Wednesday. A cold front will stall over the area Thursday. Low pressure will move through Sunday and Monday, followed by cold high pressure.”
It’s 61* and sunny at the beach this morning. Expect a high of 62* and sun this afternoon. It should be a nice beach day.
Water temperature is around 65*.
Sunrise is at 6:58 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:13 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
