Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, November 7 at 9 a.m.
With the time change, we have changed our shop hours. We are now open for winter hours from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We will still close at 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high. There looks to push a waist set, but the tide is a little low right now.
Winds are moderate from the west at 5 knots, and surf-zone is clean. Look for weather to warm today as the winds come south-west at 10 knots later. We should see light surface chop on the water this afternoon.
We just came off a low at report time, High tide is at 3:14 p.m. Your next high tide is at 9:33 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 8 seconds feet in a medium period ESE swell.
There is a little wave action out there but you’ll likely want to bring the longboard for your Tuesday session, and wait for the tide to roll in late morning before the south-west winds pick up. We have high pressure in control of our marine area, and we’re going to see surf on the smaller side of the wave spectrum through late week. For later in the week, a cold front advances Friday night, and we see some pre-frontal south wind chop, followed by strong north-east wind swell for the weekend. This is a good week to go inshore fishing, that’s probably the best call.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region this week. A cold front will drop into the area Friday night, then high pressure will gradually build in from the north.”
Water temperature is starting to drop, it’s around 65*.
The weather is beautiful. It’s 62* and sunny. Look for a high of 72* today with sun. Perfect fall beach weather.
Sunrise is at 6:42 a.m. Sunset is right at 5:24 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
