Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, November 9 at 8:30 a.m.

We have moved to our winter hours as of yesterday. Hours will be 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. We will close at 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Surf at The Washout is knee-to-thigh high. Looks all right for the longboard glide. It’s kind of weak, though.

Winds have finally died down this morning. It’s blowing north at 5 knots. Surf zone is clean with less drift.

Look for north winds at 5 to 10 today, going south late day. Surf stays pretty clean for your Tuesday.

High tide is at 11:25 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:38 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 4 ft. at 6 seconds in a high-angled combination of east/north-east wind swell and easterly swell.

We still have ridable waves today. Best for a high-volume board, but the wind has died and the surf zone is nice and clean. Low pressure moves to the north-east, away from our marine area early in the work week. This will keep some small, high-angled north-east swell in the forecast for today, falling off for low tide this afternoon. Look for small surf Wednesday into Thursday morning. Short-period, choppy south wind swell builds Thursday afternoon. Look for a small but rideable clean up for Friday morning after a cold front passage when winds go west. Keep an eye on the flags for Friday morning. Surf looks small into the weekend as off-shore flow increases and high pressure sets up over our marine area.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Wednesday, then move off the coast on Thursday. A cold front will move through Friday morning, followed by high pressure through Sunday. Another cold front will move through on Monday.”

It’s 54* with bright sunshine this morning. Look for a high of 68* today with sun. Beautiful beach weather.

Water temperature is going down. It’s now 60*. It should warm up some mid-to-late week with southerly flow increasing.

Sunrise is at 6:44 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:22 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
