Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, November 2 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout this morning is flat.
Winds are north at 10 knots and surf zone is clean. Lots of menhaden running just off the beach if you need some bait.
Look for north-east winds today at 5 to 10, and a semi-choppy surf zone with small conditions expected.
Tide is now going out, and low tide will be at 12:20 p.m. We have a high tide right around sunset at 6:25 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 1.3 ft at 11 seconds in a long period easterly swell.
As with most of the latter half of October, November starts with high pressure over our marine area brining small surf for the first half of the work week. We see unsettled weather move in late week, and winds increase north-easterly, pushing in a bigger, drifty, choppy north-east wind swell for late week, with a high angle on it. Local winds could come north late week, so surf could be cleaner than predicted, but there will certainly be a lot of drift. Florida might be the call if you want some north-east swell late week into the weekend, but there will likely be some wind down there, too.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail into mid-week. A storm system will likely bring unsettled weather later in the week.”
It’s 58* and sunny this morning. Look for a high of 71* today with sun. We have perfect fall fishing weather.
Water temperature is going down. It’s now 70*.
Sunrise is at 7:38 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
