Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Nov.3 at 8:30 a.m.
We have moved to our winter hours now that the time has changed. We will be open from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Surf at Folly is flat and clean with a north-west wind about 5 knots. Might be a good day for a flat water paddle-board session. Or you should go ahead and vote. If you haven’t already. Not missing much out here this morning.
Look for winds to continue light and variable today, and we should see a fairly clean surf zone all day, with small waves continuing.
High tide is at 9 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:24 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:24 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is down. Virtual buoy data is showing 1.6 ft. at 9 seconds in a very small east/north-east swell.
Surf looks small for today and Wednesday, but models are picking up onshore flow to begin Thursday as high pressure moves off the Mid-Atlantic coast, creating onshore flow. This will build our surf waist to high Thursday, with surf building Friday and through the weekend. Winds will trend moderate north-east for the period, so it will likely have some bump/chop in it. Also, we have Tropical Storm ETA in the approaching the southwestern Caribbean that looks to perhaps push south of our general marine area late this weekend enhancing our onshore flow and looking to build our surf as high pressure stays anchored to the north-east. Models are still not to aligned or consistent for the long term but certainly something for us to keep our eyes on, for continued, bigger surf into next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will persist across the region through the week. A weak coastal trough will develop nearby late week.”
It’s actually kind of cold this morning. It’s 42* with sun. Look for a high of 65* with sun today. We have perfect fall beach weather.
Water temperature is 69*, dude.
Sunrise is at 6:39 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:25 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
