Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, October 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is knee-high.

Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf is clean. It’s closing out a bit at the lower tide this morning, but It could get better for a long-board glide early afternoon as the tide starts to fill in.

Look for winds to remain off-shore – north-west – until late afternoon. Surf should be clean until late day, when the winds go south-west at 15 knots.

We have a low tide at 11:17 a.m., and a high tide will be at 5:34 p.m.

Edisto Buoy is down. Surfline showing 1.3 ft at 8 seconds in medium period east/south-east swell.

Surf could push a slightly larger set early afternoon when the tide switches with clean conditions, but definitely a better day for the logs. Look for south-west winds bumping up the surf late this afternoon. This swell continues to be smaller into late-week. We also have a low in the Eastern Atlantic starting to fire up as it approaches the Lesser Antilles that could head into the Caribbean. This low has got a rough road ahead, but it’s something to keep an eye on in the tropics for maybe week-to-ten-days out.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A cold front will push south through the area tonight with high pressure prevailing through the remainder of the week. Another cold front will push east through the region Friday with high pressure prevailing thereafter.

It’s 71* with bright sun at the beach this morning. Look for a nice day with sun and a high of 79*. There is a 20% chance of a shower.

Water temperature is 75*.

Sunrise is at 7:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:58 p.m.
