Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8:30 a.m.
The Carolina Surf Film Festival is coming up THIS weekend – that’s Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19. Tickets and more information available at carolinasurffilmfestival.com.
We will have the full line of Billabong and O’Neill full-suits on the floor this week, so come take a peek and get ready to surf all winter long.
Surf at The Washout this morning is ankle to knee high. It is very soft and weak at the high tide, early.
We have trace winds from the north, north-east, and the ocean is a textured, semi-glass this morning.
We see winds trend more westerly through the day picking up into the 8-10 knots range.
We have a high tide at 9:17 a.m, and a low tide will be at 3:32 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:40 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 ft. at 9.1 seconds in a medium-period easterly ground swell, and 0.7 ft. at 4 seconds in a short-period south wind swell.
Look for semi-glassy, small long-board waves throughout the day as a stationary front continues to effect our area. Surf continues small into early this week before we see a decent cold front approach our area on Wednesday. This front will produce a quick hit and run shot of south wind-swell mid-week. Weds morning could be the call. Another cold front approaches on Sunday, building through early next week. Tropics have gone quiet, but this is the time of year to keep an eye on near-shore development. We will keep you posted.
It’s 70* and partly cloudy this morning. Time for some neoprene. Look for a high of 76* and sun behind passing clouds intermittently throughout the day.
Water temperature has dropped to 76*. Get a spring suit.
Sunrise is at 7:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:46 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
