Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 8 a.m.

We will have the full line of Billabong and O’Neill jackets, full-suits, and spring suits on the floor. Get ready for some cooler weather.

Surf at the Washout this morning is knee to thigh high.

We have south winds at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is choppy and weak.

Look for winds to rotate more south-westerly at 15 with higher gusts this afternoon as a cold front passes through the area.

Tide is low this morning, and high tide will be at 3:08 p.m. The next low tide will be at 9:38 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 5 seconds in a short period south wind swell.

Short-period south-west wind swell in the forecast for today in the thigh high range. It could build some on the incoming tide, but expect choppy drifty conditions, as a front moves through the area. We expect smaller surf for mid-week. We see another frontal boundary and storm system for Friday as a series of low-pressure systems passes across our marine area. We’ll see if this has any effect on our waves into the weekend.

It’s 77* and cloudy. Look for a high of 80* and rain on-and-off today.

Water temperature has dropped to 74*.

Sunrise is at 7:29 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:38 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
