Clean. Choppy this afternoon.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Knee-Thigh+
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Chad, with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, October 24 at 8:30 a.m.

We have wetsuits on the floor for this upcoming swell, including spring suit styles and full suits.

Also, all men’s board shorts and hybrids are on sale, so come check them out. We have a great selection.

Surf at the washout is thigh to waist but breaking close to the beach as the tide is dropping.

Winds have out of the north/north-east around 5-10 kts. Faces are fairly clean and it looks like there may be a slight southerly drift. We expect winds to turn out of the north-east around 10 kts mid afternoon.

We will have a low tide at 10:19 a.m. We see a high tide at 4:51 p.m. Waves could get a push on the incoming tide, but mind the winds.

The Edisto Buoy is not reporting at the moment. Based on some inshore buoy stations we are looking at around 2ft at 11 seconds out of the southeast.

We now have Hurricane Tammy moving in our general direction and into our swell window this week, and this is the start of what should be a good week This will increase ground swell through mid-to-late week as Tammy lingers in our swell window all week long. The only fly in the soup will be north/north-east winds. Get on some neoprene and get wet this week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ Dry high pressure will prevail across the region this week and possibly early next.”

Water temperature is around 68*.

It’s beautiful this morning. It’s 59* and sunny. Look for sun and a high of 72* and sunny all day. A beautiful day to enjoy Folly.

Sunrise is at 7:30 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:37 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
