Good morning this is Bates, with your Folly beach surf report and forecast for Tuesday, October 10 at 8:30 a.m.

We just received a ton of O’Neill full-suits for women. WE are stocked. Get in the water as the cool temperatures are on the rise.

Coming to you from the pier. Surf is flat this morning looks like a great morning to fish. It’s ankle to knee high at best. We have beautiful, cool beach weather, however.

Winds are almost slack this morning. Maybe a little west in it.

Look for westerly winds at 10 knots this morning, going south at 10 knots this afternoon. This will create slight surface chop on small waves for your Tuesday.

Low tide is at 11:26 a.m. High tide will fill in at 5:46 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

Not much surf for your Tuesday. This trend will likely continue into Wednesday. On Thursday, we see a low pressure system move across Florida, west to east from the Gulf of Mexico and into our marine area. This system looks to reorganize off the coast and could become a tropical system. It’ll push up some surf for sure, but the only fly in the soup is strong winds, starting north-east for Thursday, then rotating east to south-east by Friday afternoon. There could be a short clean up sometime Saturday before a cold front passes our beaches and winds come strong off-shore, beating down the surf Sunday into early in the work week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ High pressure will prevail into the middle of the week. A series of disturbances will bring unsettled conditions the second half of this week, followed by a cold front early in the weekend.

Water temperature is around 74*.

It’s a beautiful 65* with* sunshine and cool out this morning. Look for a high of 77* today and sunshine. It’s a perfect, beautiful fall day.

Sunrise is at 7:17 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:57 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
