Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, October 3 at 8:30 a.m.
We have wetsuits on the floor for men and women. Come get ready for cold weather surfing with Ocean Surf Shop.
Surf at The Washout is thigh-to-waist high with a inconsistent plus set. It’s a bit soft and up in the rocks at the king tide. Winds are moderate NNE making for some drift. Overall looks decent and worth a shot on the incoming tide this morning.
Winds are north/north-east at 5 to 10 knots this morning, and surf is a bit drifty but there are some clean waves.
We see side-shore conditions today with north/north-east winds at 10 to 15 later today.
We have a high tide at 11:32 a.m. Look for low tide at 5:52 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 3.3 feet at 10 seconds in ESE groundswell. With an east/north-east wind swell reading 3.9 feet at 7 seconds.
Surf is holding in averaging waist high with a plus sets. Looks fun. Winds are not the best but plenty of swell. We are seeing groundswell from tropical storms Phillipe and Rina. Looking ahead Phillipe keeps churning just north of the Caribbean islands more favorably into our swell window with some further strengthening forecasted. Phillipe swell should be on tap for most of our work week with easterly swell mix continuing through Saturday. Not expecting anything epic here winds will be NE most of the week, but there should be plenty of swell.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “ High pressure will extend across the region through this week. A cold front will come through on Friday.”
Water temperature is around 74*.
It’s 67 with hazy sunshine. Look for a high of around 79* today with a mix of clouds and sunshine.
Sunrise is at 7:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:10 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
