Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, September 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at Folly this morning are averaging knee-high. It’s semi-clean and weak with a west/north-west at 5 to 10 knots, and surf zone is clean.

Winds continue from the west today at 10 knots and surf should be semi-clean today with small conditions.

High tide will be at 10:43 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:55 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 12 seconds in a long period east/south-east ground swell, with a short period south-west wind swell 3.3 feet at 5 seconds.

There is still some easterly swell in the water, but it’s passing by Folly Beach and headed to Florida or the Outer Banks through Tuesday. Surf looks small at Folly until the middle of the work-week. We have a feeling a low will pop-up off of a stalled frontal boundary late Thursday and Friday of this week, bringing with it strong north-east winds and high angled, short period north-easterly conditions Thursday through Sunday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A cold front will move through the area today, then stall off the coast into early next week.”

Water Temperature is around 83*.

It’s 79* and mostly cloudy this morning. It’s looking like we’ll have less humidity today with a high of 83* and sun this afternoon.

Sunrise is at 7:02 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:28 p.m.
