Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, September 21 at 8:30 a.m.

We actually got a few Billabong men’s spring suits in, so come grab one while we have a few left as it’ll cool off at the beach later this week.

Surf at the Washout is knee-high with a thigh set.

Winds are south at 10 knots. Surf does have some stormy bump in it.

Look for south/south-east winds to continue today at 10 knots. We see a bumpy surf zone all day.

Its high tide as of report time this morning, and low tide will be at 2:52 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:10 p.m.

The Edisto buoy is reading 3.6 ft. at 6 seconds in a short period easterly wind swell. Hopefully the swell will swing more south-east as the day wears on.

Winds come more on-shore for today and Wednesday and look for bumpy, stormy wind-swell to continue into mid-week averaging thigh-with maybe a waist high set. After a cold front passage on Thursday, winds will come more offshore and clean up a fun, small ground swell from what is now Tropical Storm Peter. This trend continues into Friday. Look for waves to drop off for the weekend as north-east flow increases and sends north-easterly swell past our beaches and down to Florida. But the weather will be beautiful.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “Deep tropical moisture will lead to a wet pattern into mid week. A cold front will then move through the area Wednesday night into early Thursday, followed by cooler and drier high pressure through the weekend and into early next week.”

It’s 76* this morning and raining. We expect rain all day and with a high of 78*.

Water temperature is around 82*.

Sunrise is at 7:07 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:17 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
