Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, September 28 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is knee high.
The surf zone is very clean with west winds at 5 knots.
Winds will stay moderate today from the west. Look for a clean surf zone most of the day. Winds come south later this afternoon at 10 knots.
Tide is coming in. High tide will be at 1:39 pm. The next low tide will be at 8:04 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2 ft. at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell.
It is another beautiful morning on Folly beach as we start fall, even if the surf isn’t huge .It may be possible to get a ride on a log but you’re better off getting your work done and getting ready for late week when long-period swell from Major Hurricane Sam begins to filter in to our beaches. Might be some easterly winds on it, but not too bad. Looks like another beautiful swell coming with no need to pack the sandbags and put up the plywood. Let’s hope we stay so luck for the rest of hurricane season.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will remain the dominant feature through next weekend.”
It’s a beautiful 74* and sunny. Look for a high of 83* and sun today. Awesome fall weather here at Folly Beach.
Water temperature is going down. It’s 79*.
Sunrise is at 7:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:08 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
