Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Valentine’s Day at 8:30 a.m.
Happy Valentine’s Day. Much love to our Folly Surfing community, from Ocean Surf Shop.
Not getting much love from the surf this morning.
Waves at the Washout this morning are very small. Maybe knee high.
Winds are light from the north/north-west, and surf is clean.
Look for east winds becoming south-east this afternoon at 5 to 10 knots, and bumpy, but small, wind swell this afternoon.
We have a low tide this morning, and high tide will be at 2:46 p.m. The next low tide is at 8:58 p.m
The Edisto buoy is reading a paltry 1.3 ft. at 7 seconds from the south-east.
Pretty darn small out there this morning, and we shouldn’t expect too much significant swell late week, but we see increasing, choppy, short-period south-west wind swell Saturday, rotating more south-easterly for Sunday. This wind swell will average waist to stomach high with poor from and chop Saturday afternoon. Look for swell building some for the south-east and remaining semi-choppy for Sunday. So there should be a few waves for the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will persist into Friday. A series of low pressure systems will bring various impacts as they pass just to our north this weekend into the middle of next week.
It’s 49* and sunny this morning. Expect a beautiful beach day with a high of 66* and sun.
Water temperature is around 56*.
Sunrise is around 7:04 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:02 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
