Good morning this is Bates with you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Valentine’s Day, 2023.

We love you.

Not seeing much Valentine’s Day love from the surf today. Surf at Folly is flat, to maybe the knee-high range.

Winds are west/south-west around 5 knots, and surf-zone is clean.

Look for east/north-east wind today around 5 to 8 knots, and we see a slight surface chop on the

We are coming off a low tide this morning, and high tide will be at 1:45 p.m. The next low tide will be at 8:01 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2 feet at 4 seconds in a short-period south-west wind swell.

We are looking at small surf today, and just a slight bump on Wednesday in a lazy south wind swell. Maybe enough for the longboard. Next swell shows Thursday and Friday as a cold front approaches our marine area for the weekend, and south winds pick up mid-day Thursday, and go south-west on Friday. Kind of the typical, pre-frontal wind swell. This will hopefully hold overnight Friday into Saturday morning for the quick clean up before waves get beat down for Saturday afternoon by offshore winds. Swell goes high-angled north-east for Sunday.

The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through the middle of the week. A cold front will sweep across the area Thursday night into Friday. High pressure will then return this weekend and persist into early next week.

It’s 50* and sunny this morning.  Expect a high of around 63* later today with sunshine.

Water temperature is 57*.

Sunrise is at 7:03 a.m., and sunset will be at 6:04 p.m.
