Good morning, this is Annie with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, July 25th at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout is rib to chest high and coming in pretty consistently.
Surf this morning is fairly clean, but slightly disorganized as wind is WSW at 10 knots.
We see S winds later today increasing up to 25 knots, making surf pretty choppy this afternoon.
We are coming off a high tide at sunrise. Low tide is at 12:47 p.m., and high tide will be at 7:23 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 5 ft at 5.6 seconds in a mix of medium-period SE swell, and WSW wind swell.
High pressure remains off the coast through Thursday. We’ll see an additional high pressure system build from the W moving eastward over the weekend before a weak cold front approaches before moving offshore Saturday into Sunday. Winds are expected to remain from the S/SW all week, leaving surf mostly choppy. Swell off the coast is predicted for the week ahead; it will of course depend on the wind to see what kind of swell we really get.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Low pressure will lift out of the area today and tonight. Atlantic high pressure will then build across the area and persist through early next week.”
It’s 79* with and mostly sunny this morning. Look for a high of 86* with clouds and rain – 60% chance today.
Water temperature is 84*.
Sunset is at 8:22 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:28 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
