Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for
Wednesday, April 18 at 8:30 a.m.

Tons of new spring gear in now. We are STOKED and STOCKED! Come check it out.

Surf at the Washout is running shin to knee high with an occasional thigh high set.

Wind is out of the south-west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf zone is semi-clean.

Look for southerly winds at 15-20 knots this afternoon, and surf should have some cross-shore texture in it this afternoon.

High tide will be at 10:23 a.m. Low tide will be at 4:24 pm. The next high tide is at 10:45 p.m.

The Edisto buoy reading 1 ft. at 10 seconds in very steep south-west swell.

Surf looks small today, with SW winds and semi-clean conditions. We see short period south-west wind chop swell build for today in the thigh high range with weak, semi-clean conditions. This trend continues on Thursday but fades some Thursday night as a dry cold front passes the area. Swell builds on Friday in a high angle drifty north-east wind swell, this fades out some for Saturday before south-east trade wind swell fills in late Sunday into early next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will build in behind a cold front today and then persist through Wednesday. After a brief warmup, a dry cold front should then pass through Thursday night followed by cooler high pressure through the end of the week. Unsettled weather could return early next week.”

It is a chilly 62* and sunny this morning. Look for a nice beach day with a high of 76* and bright sunshine.

Water temperature is around 64*.

Sunset is at 7:51 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:46 a.m

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
