Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Tuesday, May 2 at 8:30 a.m.
A whole new shipment of Stewart surfboards has just arrived, including Epoxy Redline and 949 models. Come check it out.
Surf at the Washout is running ankle to knee high. There is a rare bigger set.
Wind is out of the north-west at 1-5 knots. Surf zone is very clean.
Look for southerly winds this afternoon averaging 5 knots. The surf should stay fairly clean all day.
High tide will be at 10:18 a.m., and low tide will be at 4:10 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:45 p.m.
The Edisto buoy reading 1.7 ft. at 7 seconds in east/south-east medium period swell.
Small surf should continue through the work week as high pressure sets up over our marine area, bringing us beautiful weather, but not much surf. There is a chance we could see some SMALL trade-wind swell Saturday as high pressure begins to slide to our west. Surf could increase into the next work week as high pressure moves offshore, and a cold front approaches.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “Surface high pressure centered off the Southeast coast will remain in control through the week. A cold front could impact the area early next week.
It is sunny at the beach this morning and 67*. Look for a high of 79* with sun today. We have beautiful beach weather.
Water temperature is around 68*.
Sunset is at 8:02 p.m. and sunrise will be at 6:31 a.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
