Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, April 16 at 9 a.m.
Surf at the Pier is as flat as any metaphor I could come up with this morning.
The wind is north/north-west at 10 to 15 knots. Surf zone is clean, and it looks like a beautiful beach day. Might want to fish or paddleboard a river today.
Look for north-west winds go west and abate 5 to 10 knots for afternoon. Beautiful beach weather.
We have high tide at 10:32 a.m. Low tide will be at 4:24 p.m.
Edisto Buoy is currently reading .5 feet at 8 seconds in a trace medium period east/south-east swell.
We see flat surf for most of your work week, but it should start to pick up small by Friday afternoon as high pressure begins to build east of the mid-Atlantic states. We’ll see this clockwise motion of the high push in southerly flow Saturday, building Sunday into early week. Nothing huge, just some fun, medium-period ground swell with semi-clean/semi-chop conditions. So get the chores done and come see us for all your surfing needs.
Our friends at NOAA predict, “High pressure will prevail into Monday, followed by a dry cold front Tuesday. High pressure will return through the remainder of the week.”
The water temperature is around 69*.
It’s currently 58* sunny with a high of about 72*
Sunrise was at 6:51 am and the sunset will be at 7:48pm.
Thanks for tuning in for the Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
