Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, April 28 at 8:30 a.m.
We just received new boards from our buddy Gary Wilson, come by and check those out while the selection is still solid. Summer is on the way.
Surf at The Washout this morning is around knee high. Maybe slightly larger. You’ll need a log or a big foamy to ride it.
Winds are south/south-west at 5 knots, and surf is weak and semi-clean.
Look for winds to continue south-west at 5 to 10 knots, going south at 10 to 15 knots his afternoon with a higher gust. Small surf gets choppy this afternoon.
We have a high tide at 9:30 a.m., and a low tide will be at 3:30 p.m. The next high tide at 10 p.m.
Virtual buoy readings are showing 1.3 ft at 8 seconds in a weak, medium-period south/south-east swell.
Surf looks pretty small again today. It’s rideable on the log if you are desperate. Just some weak south-wind chop developing this afternoon. Surf should pick up slightly on Thursday in a weak south-west wind wave. Probably a weak, knee-to-thigh high wave on average. This south-west wind swell will build overnight on Thursday. Choppy, south-west wind waves will increase some for Friday. Winds switch north-east for Saturday, and high-angled north-east wind waves will roll past our beaches Saturday. Waves go flat for Sunday and into early in the work week.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Thursday. A cold front could bring some impacts to the region on Friday, followed by high pressure and a relatively dry weekend.”
It’s a beautiful, sunny 67* this morning. Look for a high of 74* and sun all day today. We have perfect beach weather.
Water temperature is around 69*.
Sunrise is at 6:33 a.m. and sunset will be at 8 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
