Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, April 3 at 8:30 a.m.
We have LOTS of new spring merchandise at the shop, so come on by and see what’s new for spring. We also have spring suits and wet-suit jackets as the water temperature should rise in the next few weeks.
Surf at the Washout ankle-to-knee high.
Winds are west/north-west at 5 knots, surf zone is clean and glassy.
Winds rotate south-east for afternoon at 10 knots, adding bump to the surf zone.
We are coming off a high tide, and low tide will be at 1:34 p.m. The next high tide will be at 7:47 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 8 seconds in a fading easterly swell, and north-west winds are pushing most of the swell away from our beaches.
Surf looks small for today into Thursday, then we should see a small south wind swell fill in Friday into Saturday in the thigh-to-waist high range as a series of disturbances affect our marine area. Surf will fall off again on Sunday. Then we see another low affect our marine area early next week, sending in some south wind-swell for early next week.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Thursday. Several disturbances will then affect the area starting Thursday night and continuing through early next week.”
It’s a chilly 42* with sun this morning. Look for a nice beach day with warming temperatures and a high of 65* with lots of sun.
Water temperature is around 61*.
Sunrise is around 7:05 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:40 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
