Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, April 5that 8:30 a.m.
Lots of Spring/summer gear hitting the floors. Bikinis, board shorts, flops you name it we got you covered.
Surfs looking around knee-to-thigh high at the washout. It’s kind of weak and breaking close in, but could be fun for the high volume or longboard if you can find a spot that is breaking a little further out
Winds are light from the east, and surf zone is clean.
Winds will be from the south today about 5 knots in the morning, and increasing to 5-15 knots in the afternoon
We are coming off a high tide at 8:07 a.m., low tide will be at 2:08 p.m. The high tide will be at 8:34 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.0ft at 7 seconds in medium period east/south-east swell.
There is a little glide for the high-volume board this morning if you can find the right spot. Maybe near the pier. And it’s a nice day at the beach. This small south swell should continue through Thursday evening. A cold front moves through the area buy Friday, and we will see a big north-east blow and bigger high angled north-east wind swell from Saturday through Monday with drifty, semi-choppy and cooler conditions.
The NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for; “A front will meander just N or over the far N waters today while remaining nearly stationary, then lift N as a warm front later today and tonight. A cold front will move SE across the region Thu night through Fri night and will stall across the S waters early Sat. Low pressure is expected to develop over or just S of the southern waters along the stalled front by Sat night, then meander in the region or just S of it into Sun night. High pressure will build offshore over the northern and central waters Fri into Sun night.”
It’s 69* and warm. It’s partly cloudy. Expect clouds mixed with sun and a high of 77*.
Water temperature is back up to 66*.
Sunrise is at 7:03 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:42 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
