Good morning! This is Luke da Kook with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Surf still on the downside knee high with onshore winds not looking to hot.
Expect ENE winds today 10-15mph+ onshore winds.
Low tide was at 9:21 am, high tide today will be at 4:05 pm.
Edisto buoy is showing 3.0 ft at 8 sec in a shorty period SE swell.
Surf again is still on the downside until tomorrow morning. We have Tropical storm Ernesto churning down just north of Puerto Rico, forecasted to become Hurricane Ernesto later today. The models show Ernesto moving northward the good news is plenty of fetch and time this system will sit in our swell window. Expecting groundswell pulses to start showing up hopefully tomorrow afternoon and further building into Friday and Saturday. Shoulder-head high+ surf during the peak of the event, winds look to cooperate as well. Expecting Ernesto swell to loose steam Sunday but still some leftovers. Lots of surf on the way.
Sunset is 8:08 pm, sunrise is 6:43 am.
It’s 81* and sunny with a high of 86* and 45% chance of rain today. Come on out it’s a steamer!
That’s all from us at Ocean. Swing by and shoot the shit.
cheers
