Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 8:45 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh-waist+
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: Windy

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Wednesday Dec 13th at 8:45 a.m.

Water is getting cold. Come get your booties and other wetsuit accessories before the upcoming forecasted swell this weekend. We have you covered from head to toe.

Surf is about thigh high with some waist sets. The sets seem to be handling the full new moon tide, otherwise it kinda mushes out. Some side shore wind on it and pushing down the beach a little.

Currently winds are moderate 10-15+mph out of the NNE and will stay pretty much the same throughout the day

High tide was at 7:45 a.m. Low tide is 2:04 p.m., with the next high tide at 7:52 p.m. tonight.

The Edisto buoy is currently reading 3.0 ft at 9 seconds in ESE medium period wind-swell.

There is a wave out there and probably a pretty fun set to be had. It is windy and not going to back down. There is some swell in the water, but not sure if it can handle the dropping tide. We will see the winds have more of an onshore flow as the week progresses. There is a BIG low forecasted to cross over Florida into the Atlantic Sunday. Surf is going to pick up, but timing is everything with the winds going offshore. As we get closer to the weekend we will have a better idea of what to expect.

NOAA Forecast: “High pressure will extend over the area this week. A coastal low pressure system will impact the region late weekend into early next week.”

Current water temp: 60*.

It’s partly cloudy and 48* this morning. We have a high of 60* with passing clouds and breezy.

Sunrise is 7:15 a.m., Sunset 5:10 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
