Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, December 14 at 8:30 a.m.
We have tons of new men’s O’Neill wet-suits in stock. Come check them out and get ready for winter surfing.
Waves at the Washout this morning are knee-high with a thigh-high set. It’s soft at the morning’s high tide.
Winds are north, north-east at 15 knots, and surf is slightly angled and side-shore with some drift down the beach. It doesn’t look very inviting today.
We see north, north-east winds continue today at 10 to 15 knots, going east late day. Look for a side-shore, drifty surf zone today, with some slight chop later in the day.
High tide will be at 11:32 a.m., and low tide will be at 5:53 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 feet at 10 seconds in a long period east/south-east ground swell, with a short-period easterly wind swell reading of 2.6 feet at 6 seconds.
There is a longboard wave out here if you are into it, but it’s chilly, and no one is really in the water this morning. We see choppy, bigger south-west wind swell on Thursday as a cold front approaches and passes our marine area. Look for a quick clean up at some time Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. Depends on when the front moves off-shore. Surf drops off with cold temperatures for the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region through early this week. A cold front will bring impacts to the region late Wednesday into Thursday. High pressure will then prevail late week and into early next week.”
It’s 50* with clouds this morning. Look for a high of 61* with clouds and a chance for showers all day.
Water temperature is still around 61*.
Sunrise is at 7:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:15 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
