Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.

All of our full-suits in the shop are now on sale. Come see if we have something that fits you while the selection is still good.

Surf at Folly this morning running knee-to-thigh high. Maybe slightly bigger, but the tide is going out, which is not helping the size.

Winds are from the north-north/west at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean. Best  for a longboard.

Look for winds to increase north late morning at 10 knots, then go north at 15 to 20 this afternoon, blowing down the surf and adding drift to the surf zone.

We have a low tide at 10:52 a.m., and a high tide will at 4:51 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.6 ft. at 9 seconds in a east/south-east swell with an south/south-easterly wind-swell reading approximately 2 ft. at 5 seconds.

Winds will come strong north this afternoon, then shift north-east for Thursday, with building, drifty north-east wind swell in the forecast for Thursday building Friday.  Thursday sees a low-pressure system pass off-shore, and we’ll have strong north-east winds and bigger, choppy, drifty north-east wind swell sweeping down the beach for Friday and into the weekend. This north-east swell and wind will fall off some for Sunday, before another storm system brings south wind swell Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our marine area calls for: “A cold front will drop through the area today, before stalling to the south tonight. Low pressure will develop along the front and then lift northeast off the coast through Thursday. Cold high pressure will build in Friday through the weekend. Another storm

system will impact the area early next week.

It’s 63* and cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 68* and we see  rain on-and-off this afternoon.

Water temperature is 58*.

Sunrise is at 7 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:07 p.m.
