Semi-choppy

Time of Report: 9:45 a.m.
Wave Forecast: thigh-waist+
Traffic: None
Parking: Plenty.
Dangers: None.

Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop report and forecast for Wednesday, Feb 7th at 9:45 a.m.

The Pier is looking semi choppy around thigh to maybe a waist high set a.m. with some lefts sneaking through. Wind is blowing more out of the north/north-east adding texture to the surf zone.

Winds are currently north/north-east at 15 knots and expected to stay similar throughout the day. Winds trend more north-east tonight and tomorrow

Low tide is at 11:42 a.m. We have one high tide today at 5:31 p.m.  Tide was really high this morning so I expect the same this evening.

Edisto Buoy is reading 5.6 feet at 11 seconds east/south-east medium period swell. This is mixed with a 6.2 ft and 7 seconds east/north-east wind swell.

Northerly winds continue out of the today as it varies to the east a little. There is some high angled wind-swell in the water and is mostly passing us by. Some sets are sneaking in for decent lefts this morning. Tomorrow morning could have a possibility of a cleaner wave before the wind goes more onshore around noon. May be some leftovers that clean up Friday morning. We’ll keep you updated.

Water temp is around 55*.

The NOAA Marine Forecast for our waters calls for: “High pressure will prevail through late in the week. A storm system is expected to move through our region early next week.”

It’s 45* and sunny. Look for a high of 54* today, and sunshine with wind.

Sunrise is 7:10 a.m., Sunset 5:56 p.m.

That’s all from us at Ocean Surf Shop. We’ll check back tomorrow.
