Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat to knee.
Traffic: Not much.

Dangers: None.

Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, February 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at The Washout this morning is flat with a knee-high set.

Winds are north at around 5 knots, and surf zone is side-shore and textured.

Look for winds to continue north at 5 to 10 knots today, going west late day. Surf zone stays clean, and waves stay small all day.

Tide just started coming in. High tide is at 2:15 this afternoon, and low tide will be at 8:13 this evening.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 ft at 5 seconds in mixed east/south-east swell and north-east wind swell. Not much swell showing at the beach.

Surf is looking pretty dang small though Saturday. A coastal storm should pull through the area on Sunday, and that will be our next best chance for waves, but it’s still not really looking too promising for at least the next five days. We’ll keep you posted.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region into Saturday. A coastal storm should bring some impacts to the area early next week, followed by a return of high pressure.”

It’s really pretty nice at the beach. It’s 42*. It’s cool, but the sun is out and it should be around 58* this afternoon with very little wind.

Water Temperature is around 50*.

Sunrise is at 7:07 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:59 p.m.
