Good morning this is Bates with you Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, February 1 at 8:30 a.m.
All full wetsuits have been marked down 20%. We also have some hoods and gloves in stock. Lots of cold water left in the season, so save on a suit to carry you through this season and into next.
We also have a ton of new wetsuits jackets and spring-suits for men and kids. They just arrived, so get them before it starts to get warmer, which is right around the corner.
Surf at Folly this morning is around knee high. It is so foggy at the beach, it’s hard to get good pictures. But the fog is getting ready to burn off. Should be a warm day at the beach, so besides some clouds, might be a good day for a beach walk.
Winds are west around 5 to 10 knots and surf zone is clean.
Winds should continue light from the north-west this afternoon, and we should see a clean surf zone all day.
We have a low tide approaching at 10:53 a.m. High tide will fill in at 4:37 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 feet at 11 seconds in a long period east/south-east swell.
We see low pressure move into our marine area Thursday evening into Friday, and winds are predicted to go north-east for late week, going north-to-north-east for the weekend. North-east winds should pick up Saturday and build high angled north-east wind swell into our beaches with lots of drift. Might be something to ride, but not the best conditions Saturday. High pressure moves off the mid-Atlantic states to start the next work week as low pressure forms to our south-east. This should push up a pretty decent swell Monday into Tuesday of the next work week.
The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “A weak cold front will impact the region today into Thursday. Low pressure will produce widespread rainfall Thursday night into Friday. Colder high pressure will then build over the region late week into the weekend. High pressure will persist and temperatures will moderate through early next week.”
It’s 63* and super foggy this morning. Look for a high of 70* today with clouds and a slight chance for some showers all day.
Water temperature, it’s 55*.
Sunrise is at 7:14 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:51 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
