Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, January 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is still flat-to-knee high. It’s breaking right on the beach at the morning’s high tide, and is not really rideable.

Winds are north-west this morning at 5 knots, and surf zone is very clean.

Look for winds to shift south-west at 10 knots this afternoon, adding some slight bump to very small surf.

We are coming off a high tide just berfore 8 a.m., Low tide will be right around 2:01 p.m., and high tide will be at 9 p.m.

Virtual buoy data is reading a very small 1 ft. at 12 seconds in an easterly swell.

Not much surf today and tomorrow. Another cold front approaches Friday, and this could push up some choppy south-west wind swell Friday, falling off overnight Friday as winds come strong west, and leave us with small surf for the weekend.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will prevail through Wednesday. A weak trough will move through Wednesday night, followed by high pressure into Thursday night. A strong cold front will move approach Friday and pass through Friday night, followed by high pressure through the weekend. A likely weak dry system will move through the area Sunday night into Monday with a more significant system possibly impacting the area near the middle of next week.”

It is a 48* and cloudy this morning. Look for mostly cloudy skies this afternoon and a high of 52*.

Water temperature is 54*.

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:34 p.m.
