Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, January 6  at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly this morning is flat on the incoming tide this morning.

Winds are north at 10 to 12 knots, and surf zone is semi-choppy, weak and a bit drifty.

Look for winds to increase continue north this morning at 15 knots. Northerly winds should abate some late day.

We are coming off a low tide this morning. We have a high-tide at 1:07 p.m., and a low tide at 7:30 p.m.

Virtual buoy data is reading 1 ft. at 12 seconds in a high-angled north-east ground swell.

Not much swell at the buoy, and not many waves at the beach this morning. Surf looks small for the majority of the work week. There is a possibility of increasing surf overnight on Thursday as a low-pressure system crosses our marine area. Friday morning could product moderate winds from the west and some fun surf, but swell will be short-lived as winds increase from the west Friday afternoon with Surf falling off Saturday. There will be a similar low pressure crossing our marine area early next week.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “High pressure will remain over the area through tonight. A low pressure system will track across the area Thursday into Friday, followed by another low pressure system early next week.”

It is a 43* and sunny this morning. Look for more clouds this afternoon, and a high of 57*.

Water temperature has bumped back up to 57*.

Sunrise is at 7:22 a.m. and sunset will be at 5:28 p.m.
