Clean.

Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Flat. Perhaps knee on the incoming.
Traffic: Loacl tourist traffic, but getting on the island isn't that hard.
Parking: Some to be had.
Dangers: Flat spell and summer waves.

Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, July 12 at 8:30 a.m.

Waves at the washout are flat.

Winds are south at 5 knots, and surf zone is side-shore and clean.

Look for south-east winds at 10 knots this afternoon, and slight surface chop on small waves later today.

Low tide will be at 10:09 a.m., and high tide will be at 4:46 pm. Tide will be going out until well after dark.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 9 seconds in a medium period south-east swell, but it’s small and not much is making it into the beach as the tide falls this morning.

Not much to say. It’s glassy, it’s small. May be some cruisers with the incoming tide-to-mid tide if the wind stays light. Right now, the whole week is looking like it’ll be a small south wind chop in the surf zone. There is a chance for small, choppy south-west wind swell to pick up over the weekend, but it’ll be kind of typical summer wind swell with side-shore conditions. Still waiting on the tropics to start into gear for our first real taste of swell.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A weak inland trough will develop today as high pressure builds over the Atlantic into the weekend.”

Water temperature is around 85*

It’s 82* with blue skies this morning. It is very humid. Expect sunny and hot weather all day with a high of 86*

Sunrise is at 6:21 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.
