Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, July 14 at 8:00 a.m.
Surf at the Washout this morning is thigh-to-waist high. Still a little swell out there, but the quality is not great. If you can pick out set waves, you’ll find yourself a nice line, but the wave is slightly textured. We should expect to see some improvement in swell size and form as the tide fills in more mid-morning.
Look for winds from the south, south-west at 3 knots this morning, picking up to 5-8 knots late this afternoon out of the south. Surf should be pick up in size with the incoming high and maintain a semi-glassy form for the remainder of the day.
High tide is at 11:40 a.m., low tide will be at 5:41 p.m.
Look for semi-clean thigh-to-waist high surf this afternoon as the tide fills in, pushing into the stomach high range. We see choppy south-west wind swell average around thigh high throughout most of the work week. This falls off some mid-week when south wind swell will continue a bit smaller. Likely still rideable on a longboard. High pressure is set up over our marine area, brining us a typical summer weather pattern and typical summer south wind-swell. No major swell to mention on the horizon, but keep on your toes for our next storm.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will extend across the area through this weekend. A weak front will move into the region early next week.”
It’s very sunny this morning and 80*. Look for a high of 84* today and partly cloudy skies this afternoon.
Water temperature is around 85*.
Sunrise is at 6:23 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:29 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
