Good morning this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, July 19th at 8:30 a.m.

Coming to you from the Washout, waves this morning are knee-high and pretty weak.

Winds are southwest at around 6 knots – light side-shore – and waves are clean and small at the higher tide this morning.

Winds are forecast to increase to 10-15 kts later today, so surf-zone will likely get a little more chop on it as the day progresses.

We have a high tide at 9:42 a.m. this morning. Low tide will be at 3:31 p.m., and the next high tide will be at 9:56 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 8.3 seconds in a medium period easterly/south-easterly swell.

Waves are rideable on the log but overall pretty weak with the high tide. We don’t expect too much as the tide drops out.Tropical Storm Don is gonna’ loop out to sea. Likely without producing waves for us. Waves are looking pretty small for mid-week, but we should see strong south-west winds late week ahead of a front. This could push up a little choppy, small swell for late in the week and into Saturday. There are a few blobs of low pressure forecast to come off the coast of Africa this week, but nothing set in stone as of now. Just hot as hell.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A surface trough will persist inland today, while Atlantic high pressure holds offshore. A front could impact the region this weekend into early next week.”

Water temperature is around 85*.

It’s 84* and partly cloudy this morning.  Expect sunny to partly cloudy and hot today with a high of 89* and a heat index around 103* Stay hydrated!

Sunrise is at 6:22 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.

Tip of the day: make sure you strap your boards down before driving off.
