Wednesday July 2 Pier
Good morning folks, this is Eazy-E with your surf report & forecast for Wednesday, July 2nd coming to you from the Pier.
Today looks like a lot of chop and not a lot of lined up organization. Conditions have become less favorable and seem to be super drifty and choppy with winds coming from the SW pretty hard.
Winds are currently coming from the SW at 10-15kt with gusts up to 20kt. Winds will stay around 15 kt throughout the day then dropping a tad as some thunderstorms are likely to blow over.
We had a low tide this morning at 7:50 a.m. Look for a high tide this afternoon at 2:28 p.m., followed by a low tide before sunset at 8:19 p.m.
The Edisto buoy is currently reading 4.9 ft at 6 seconds coming out of the ESE.
Looks like tons of energy is showing up for future surfs, but with all the wind and not a ton of organization or solid ground swell in the water, its not looking like a super fun option to spend your morning doing as of today.
Our guys and gals at NOAA predict that; “A cold front is expected to move into the area today and could then linger along or just off the coast through the weekend”. This will make the pressure drop and add a cool feel to the air for a bit due to less humidity. With that said, not a ton of fun surf on the books right now.
Water temperatures are basically bathwater at this point, sitting at a toasty 84*
It is currently 78* and mostly sunny. Look for a high of 84* with winds picking up around 11 a.m. and some thunderstorms on the horizon for a few days.
Sunrise was at 6:17 a.m. and the sunset will be at 8:32 p.m.
Thanks for tuning in for today’s Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast.
