Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday July 6 at 8:30 a.m.
Waves at The Washout are knee-to-thigh high as the tide comes in this morning. Fairly clean with the light winds. Not great, but rideable. May get a little push with the incoming tide if the wind doesn’t pick up too much early and have some fun on the big boards.
Winds are north/north-west at 2 knots, and surf-zone pretty clean.
We are expecting winds to turn swing to the southwest around 10-15 knots today by lunch time today then going south this evening.
Low tide was 7:21 a.m. High tide is at 1:46 p.m. and with the next low tide at 7:54 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading a south-easterly long-period swell 2.6 ft. at 9 seconds.
Looks like a small southerly trade-wind swell will continue through the rest of the week, averaging knee-to-thigh high with south-west winds keeping things bumpy. Winds are forecasted to stay steady out of the southwest through the weekend and then possibly go north by Sunday. This may open the window for some small clean surf at some point over the weekend.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail across the region most of this week. A front will shift across the area late weekend, then stall south of the region. High pressure should then return early next week.”
It’s 83* and sunny this morning. We see a high of 86* with a slight breeze throughout the day and a heat index right at 100*.
Water Temperature is around 84*.
Sunrise is at 6:18 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:30 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
