Time of Report: 8:30 a.m.
Wave Forecast: Ankle-Knee
Traffic: Moderate
Parking: Plenty
Dangers: None

Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

Today officially marks the beginning of hurricane season.

We have small surf this morning. We’re coming to you from the pier, and it’s about ankle to knee high.

Winds are west at 4 knots, and surf is clean and weak. Gonna take a big board to cruise on these.

Look for winds to become south this afternoon increasing late to 10-15 knots.

High tide is at 9:54 a.m., and low tide will be at 3:39 p.m. The next high tide is at 10:05 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 1.6 feet at 7 seconds in a shorth-period, south/south-east wind swell.

High pressure sets up over our marine area this week and we expect small during most of the work week, with no real swell-making systems approaching until late week when a cold front approaches our marine area, with the possibility of a tropical low moving out of the GOMEX and into our swell window Sunday into Monday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will generally prevail through Thursday. A cold front will move through our area on Friday, then transition into a stationary front along the Southeast coast over the weekend. Low pressure originating in the tropics is expected to pass to our southeast early next week.”

It’s 77* and sunny.  High of 85* with sun and perfect beach weather.

Water Temperature is still around 80*.

Sunrise is at 6:13 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:22 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
