Good morning this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Wednesday, June 14 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at Folly this morning is knee high with a thigh set. There could be a set to waist as the tide comes in this afternoon, but we expect south-west winds to pick up.
Winds are west/south-west at 10 to 15 knots, and surf is weak and clean this morning.
Winds will eventually increase south-west at 15 knots with a higher gust. Look for typical choppy, south-west summer swell this afternoon at the higher tide.
We have a low tide this morning at 11:38 a.m.. We have a high tide at 6 p.m.
The Edisto Buoy is reading 5 feet at 4 seconds in a short-period south-west wind swell.
We should see a little south/south-west wind wave averaging thigh high with bigger sets for the remainder of the work week. It might clean up some for Thursday as winds are predicted westerly as a front lingers along the coast. Late week, look for choppy conditions, and waves averaging thigh high with waist high sets. Probably best to get it in the mornings for cleanest conditions before winds come south-west and weather gets HOT.
Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast calls for: “A stationary front could linger across the region through much of the week before shifting offshore or dissipating this weekend. Low pressure should then prevail across the region early next week with a front approaching the local area by the middle of next week.”
Water temperature is around 77*.
Its 74* with mostly cloudy conditions. Look for a high of around 80* with clouds and strong storms expected on-and-ff today.
Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:28 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
