Good morning, this is Chad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, June 22 at 8:30 a.m.   

Today is a good day to clean the car, change the oil, call a friend, go to the gym, take a long walk or just swing by the shop and say hello. Surf at the Washout this morning is flat.  

Winds are west at 4 knots, and surf zone is clean early this morning.  

Look for winds coming south-west at 10 to 15 knots this afternoon. Look for some surface chop in the water this afternoon.

We have a low tide at 9:25 a.m. High tide will be at 3:55 p.m., and low tide will be at 10:07 p.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading a small 1.3 feet at 8 seconds.

High pressure sets up over our marine area this week, and surf will average around knee high with a thigh set with semi-choppy conditions during the daytime. Typical summer south-west wind swell should pick up on Thursday. Not a lot of swell making systems predicted this week. Welcome to summer surf.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “A trough of low pressure will develop inland today. A cold front will then stall over or near the area late week into the weekend.”

It’s nice at the beach. It’s 81* with sunshine. Look for a high of 87* with sun and passing clouds today.  

Water Temperature is around 84*.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m., and sunset will be at 8:30 p.m.
