Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, June 23 at 8:30 a.m.
New Carver surf-skates have arrived at the shop. Come snag one before they are long gone.
Surf at Folly is waist-to-stomach high with a larger set. It’s inconsistent and a bit soft, but clean and looks fun.
Winds are north/north-east at 5 to 10 knots, and surf is clean.
Look for winds to continue from the north-east this morning with cleaner conditions. Winds become easterly this afternoon at 15 to 20, and surf will get choppy later today. This morning is the call if you can get it.
Tide is going out. Low tide is at 1:04 p.m. and high tide will be at 7:24 p.m.
Surf looks fun this morning, if not a bit soft. It should get choppy this afternoon as easterly winds pick up. A front stalls off-shore later today, look for increasing north-east wind and high angled north-east wind waves to end the work week as the front lifts back over our marine area late week. We could see a tropical wave mixed with Atlantic high-pressure push in a decent little ground swell likely Saturday into Sunday and then into the next work week. Keep your fingers crossed, as the forecast is a long way out.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “A cold front will shift south of the area early today. High pressure will then build from the north through Thursday, then a coastal trough will develop and move inland late week into the weekend. Atlantic high pressure will rebuild early next week.”
It’s 76* with clouds at the beach. Look for a high of 76* and sun behind clouds today.
Water temperature is around 83*.
Sunrise is at 6:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:31 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
