Good morning, this is Brad with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, June 30 at 8:30 a.m.
Surf at the Washout this morning is knee-to-thigh high and semi-choppy. It’s relatively weak and unorganized at the morning’s low tide, but should get slightly better form as the tide comes in. Enough power to push a longboard if you decide to hit it this morning.
Winds are east around 5 knots, and surf zone has some bump in it, but overall it looks pretty small for a summer session.
Look for winds to maintain an easterly direction at 7 knots and then switch to the south-east this evening at similar speeds, and we should see choppy surf later today as swell begins to fall off at low tide later.
Tide is coming in. We have a high tide at 1:03 p.m., and low tide will be at 7:22 p.m.
There are some waves still here at the beach this morning. Nothing too big, but enough for a summer session with a log. We see long-board style trade wind swell as Atlantic high pressure dominates our weather. Waves pick up some in a choppy, drfity south-west wind swell late week as a front advances into our marine area and stalls inland.
Your National Weather Service Marine Weather Forecast for our area calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail before a cold front approaches the region late week and then likely stalls inland through early next week.”
It’s sunny and 81* at the beach. Expect a humid day with a high of 82*
Water temperature is around 82*.
Sunrise is at 6:16 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:32 p.m.
Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
