Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly is knee-to-thigh high this morning.

Winds are south-west, 10 knots, and surf is choppy and weak.  It’s rideable on a long-board or softie if you need to get wet.

Winds continue in from the south-west at 5 to 10 knots today, and we see bumpy surf in the thigh high range as the tide comes in late day.

We are coming off a high tide at 8 a.m., and low tide will be at 1:46 p.m. The high tide will be at 8:15 p.m.

Surf is rideable but not great this morning. Probably best for the high-volume board. Winds trend south-west this week and look for thigh-to-waist high south-west wind-swell in the forecast with overall choppy conditions. Not anything big, but likely rideable on the right gear.

Your National Weather Service Marine Weather forecast calls for: “Atlantic high pressure will prevail through Friday, before a weak cold front moves across the area over the weekend. Another front could approach the region early next week.”

It’s 79* and cloudy at the beach. Look for a high of 83* with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers this afternoon.

Water temperature is around 80*.

Sunrise is at 6:11 a.m. and sunset will be at 8:27 p.m.
