Good morning this is Bates your Ocean Surf Shop surf report and forecast for Wednesday, March 22 at 8:30 a.m.

Surf at Folly showing knee-to-thigh high with waist high sets. Looks Ok for the high volume board.

Winds are north/north-east – side-shore – at 10 knots. There is a slight bit of drift down the beach, and surf zone is semi-clean.

We had a high tide at 9:14 a.m., and a low tide at 3;13 p.m. The next high tide is at 9:30 a.m.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 3 feet at  at 8 seconds in a medium period east/south-east swell.

There is a little longboard wave out here if you need to get wet. We could see slightly better conditions for your Thursday with winds coming more onshore and trying to push in a wave for the high-volume board. We should see bigger south-to-south-west wind swell begin to fill in again Friday, building Saturday with choppy, drifty, windy conditions and strong south-west winds. This cleans up early Sunday fades some as Sunday wears on. The beginning of the next work week looks kind of anemic for meaningful surf.

The NOAA Marine Weather forecast for our area calls for: “High pressure will extend across the region through the rest of the week. A cold front is expected to pass through on Saturday, followed by unsettled conditions early next week.”

It’s 59* chilly with rain showers and clouds. Look for a high of 64* and clouds with showers today.

Water temperature fell back to 60*. Brrrrr.

Sunrise is at 7:28 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:28 p.m.

Thanks for checking in with Ocean Surf Shop.
