Surf at The Washout this morning is waist to chest high and choppy. It’s kind of dumping at the lower tide, but could get better form as the tide rolls in some.

Winds are south-east at 10 to 15 knots, and surf zone is choppy.

Look for south-east winds at 15 to 20 this afternoon ahead of a cold front. Expect building south wind-swell in the water with choppy conditions this afternoon.

We have a high tide at noon, and a low tide at 6:30 p.m. today.

The Edisto Buoy is reading 6 feet feet at 6 seconds in a building, short-period south-east wind swell.

Look for choppy, building south-east wind swell filling in all day. This cleans up and drops for Friday after a cold front passage. Surf falls off Saturday into Sunday.

Your NOAA Marine Weather Forecast for our area currently calls for: “High pressure will prevail today. A storm system will then impact the area mid week. High pressure will return thereafter.”

It’s currently 69* and partly cloudy this morning. Look for a high of 72* with thunderstorms moving in late day.
